Knee

Runner's knee, meniscal and ACL injuries, osteoarthritis, and post-surgical knees - our single largest caseload. Treatment almost always involves the hip and foot as much as the knee itself.

Knee Physiotherapy in Johor

The knee is the hinge between two long levers - the hip above and the foot below.

Most of what shows up as "knee pain" starts somewhere else.

A dropping hip sends the knee into valgus under load; a flat foot collapses the tibia inward.

A physio who treats only the knee treats only the symptom.

In our Johor clinics the knee is the single largest body area, with runner's knee, meniscal and ligament injuries, osteoarthritis, and post-surgical knees making up most of the caseload.

How we break down knee complaints

  • Front of knee: patellofemoral pain, patellar tendinopathy, post-surgical stiffness.
  • Medial (inside): meniscus, medial collateral ligament, pes anserinus.
  • Lateral (outside): IT band syndrome, lateral meniscus, biceps femoris.
  • Behind the knee: Baker's cyst, hamstring tendinopathy, gastrocnemius insertion.
  • Generalised: osteoarthritis, inflammatory arthritis.

What rehab involves

Diagnosis-specific loading, hip and foot retraining, gait/running analysis where relevant, neuromuscular control drills, return-to-sport testing before clearing athletes.

For post-op knees (ACL, knee replacement, meniscal repair) we follow surgeon protocols and typically run 4–6 months of staged rehab.

Related conditions we treat

Knee pain, patellofemoral pain, post-ACL surgery, post-knee replacement, meniscus tear.

Cost and Johor context

RM120-250 per session. Typical course depends heavily on diagnosis - 6–10 sessions for a runner's knee, 6+ months for post-ACL reconstruction. We coordinate with orthopaedic surgeons across Johor.

FAQs

What symptoms mean I should ask about Knee physiotherapy in Johor?
Pain, stiffness, weakness, numbness, swelling, repeated flare-ups, balance change or reduced daily function are common reasons to ask for a screen. A physiotherapist should also check red flags before starting treatment.
How does treatment for Knee physiotherapy in Johor usually work, and what does it cost?
A first session normally includes history, movement testing, red-flag screening, education and a home exercise plan. In Johor, clinic sessions commonly sit around RM120-250, while home visits are usually RM120-250 depending on distance, case complexity and session length.
When is physiotherapy not enough for Knee physiotherapy in Johor?
If symptoms include fever, unexplained weight loss, severe night pain, new bladder or bowel changes, progressive neurological loss, suspected fracture or post-surgical infection, see a doctor or hospital first. Compared with rest alone, physiotherapy gives a graded recovery plan that often takes weeks, or months after surgery.
