When to go straight to hospital
Go to the nearest hospital A&E immediately if any of the following apply.
- Severe injury after a fall, car accident, or direct trauma.
- Loss of bladder or bowel control, or numbness in the saddle area.
- Progressive weakness in one or both limbs.
- Fever with back pain, unexplained weight loss, or recent history of cancer.
- Chest pain, shortness of breath, slurred speech, facial drooping, or sudden severe headache.
