Online Physiotherapy Consultation in Johor
Online physiotherapy - video consultation over Zoom, WhatsApp video, or similar - earned its place during COVID and has kept it for specific use cases.
Honest framing: it is an excellent tool for triage, for follow-up coaching on a home exercise programme, and for long-distance access in patients who can't travel.
It is a poor tool for replacing an initial hands-on assessment when that assessment would otherwise change the diagnosis.
Where online works well
- Triage and initial screening - describe the problem, we decide together whether clinic is needed or whether a structured home programme is safe to start.
- Follow-up sessions between clinic visits - check exercise quality, progress load, troubleshoot flare-ups.
- Return-to-sport progression checks for Singaporean patients or those based further north.
- Post-discharge stroke rehab coaching in combination with some in-person sessions.
Where online doesn't replace in-person
- Undiagnosed acute musculoskeletal pain needing palpation and range testing.
- Post-operative first assessment.
- Neurological conditions needing hands-on testing.
- Anything with red-flag screening requirements.
What a session looks like
45–60 minutes. Good lighting and a space where you can move.
Camera position we'll set together.
You'll demonstrate movements, we'll watch, ask questions, sometimes get you to move the phone to a specific angle.
Exercise videos or written programme sent after.
Cost and Johor context
RM120-250 per session. A good option for patients living deeper in Johor's rural districts, for busy Singaporean commuters on a tight schedule, or between in-person visits.
