Pelvic Region

The pelvic region covers postnatal diastasis and pelvic floor issues, coccydynia, sacroiliac dysfunction, hip-labral referred pain, and pregnancy-related pelvic girdle pain. Consent-led assessment is standard.

Pelvic Region Physiotherapy in Johor

The pelvic region is where postnatal rehab, pelvic floor function, coccyx pain, sacroiliac dysfunction, and pregnancy-related girdle pain all converge.

Historically it's been under-served.

The first rule here is that consent-led, private, unhurried assessment matters more than any single technique.

Common pelvic-region presentations we see

  • Postnatal: diastasis recti, pelvic floor weakness, stress urinary leakage, prolapse sensation, painful intercourse, coccyx pain after delivery.
  • Menopausal and post-menopausal: pelvic floor changes, GSM-related discomfort, increased fall risk linked to pelvic-hip coordination.
  • Pregnancy: pelvic girdle pain, sacroiliac-pattern pain, round ligament discomfort.
  • Sacroiliac / coccyx in men and women: post-fall tailbone pain, post-prolonged-sitting SI joint irritation.

How we structure care

Detailed history first, external assessment always, internal pelvic floor assessment only where clinically useful and with explicit consent.

Treatment is staged - down-training tense floors, up-training weak ones, co-managing with obstetrics, urogynaecology, or GP colleagues as needed.

Related conditions we treat

Pelvic floor dysfunction, diastasis recti, coccydynia, pregnancy and postnatal care.

Cost and Johor context

How does treatment for Pelvic Region physiotherapy in Johor usually work, and what does it cost?
A first session normally includes history, movement testing, red-flag screening, education and a home exercise plan. In Johor, clinic sessions commonly sit around RM120-250, while home visits are usually RM120-250 depending on distance, case complexity and session length.
When is physiotherapy not enough for Pelvic Region physiotherapy in Johor?
If symptoms include fever, unexplained weight loss, severe night pain, new bladder or bowel changes, progressive neurological loss, suspected fracture or post-surgical infection, see a doctor or hospital first. Compared with rest alone, physiotherapy gives a graded recovery plan that often takes weeks, or months after surgery.
